Outback Bowl 2015 is in the Bag

I’m not really a sports photographer, but I do love it when the opportunity presents itself. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been hired by the Outback Bowl for the last eight years, but my assignment is not to cover the game, it’s to photograph the “Scoreboard Salutes.” It’s an LED scoreboard that recognizes all the vendors, sponsors, contributors, and volunteers who participate in the Outback Bowl each year (400-500 names in lights). It takes the entire first quarter to cycle through one time. After that, my Photo/Media pass gets me on the field and in the pressroom (which is awesome because the pressroom has a huge buffet catered by, who?… Outback of course!).

Below are a few of my lucky shots during the 2015 game between Auburn and Wisconsin. Wisconsin took the cup, 34-31 in overtime.

I'm willing to bet this is the last time these guys buy front row seats to a bowl game.

I certainly don't have the biggest lens on the sidelines, but everyone knows who's in charge!
