We were alerted this week, that as of November 1st, the US Passport Office will no longer accept US Passport Photos if you are wearing eyeglasses. You must remove your eyeglasses for the photo. WOW! Didn’t SEE that coming!

According to the US Passport and International Travel website, there is only one exception to the rule…

  • If you cannot remove your glasses for medical reasons, please include a signed note from your doctor with your application.

This will undoubtedly cause a bit of angst with those who wear their glasses all the time, but fear not, the only people who will ever look at your passport photo are you, and some guy or gal in a foreign country, who views a thousand photos a day, and really couldn’t care less. Just follow the new guidelines and don’t worry about it.

To get the very best US Passport Photos allowable, contact Newsome’s Studio of Photography in North Tampa (Carrollwood), located at 10012 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Suite 219. They are in Cypress Point Office Park, behind Starbucks at the corner of Linebaugh and N. Dale Mabry, just one block north of Busch Blvd.

All photography is by appointment only – 813-968-2810.

SEE you soon!
