Dr Seuss wrote a book that was never published. Believed to be written in the 1960’s, “What Pet Should I Get?” is a very short story, but was finally illustrated, published, and released on July 28th.

Because of the long standing relationship the Dr Seuss franchise has had with Carnival Cruise Lines, Carnival arranged a reading of the book on board the Carnival Paradise, docked in Tampa. Evan Longoria, the All Star third baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays, was tapped to perform the reading to an audience of children from the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa Bay.

Newsome’s Studio was hired to cover the event for Carnival. Two of the images taken were picked up by the AP wire and run nationally. Yahoo News ran one of them here.

Corporate events are a favorite for us, it gets us out of the studio and into a living, breathing, moving environment with little to no control over the event itself, and only our knowledge of lighting and instinct for anticipating the shot. This is the second such event Carnival has tapped Newsome’s Studio to cover this year. We look forward to many more!
