You're referring to 606 West Kenndy Blvd, Tampa FL 33606. Yes indeed - the building and related infrastructure is a disaster. Read the posts in this blog regarding mold, rats, termites and their fecal extractions all over the building. Good luck to the next rentor.

I think we can all agree that the buyout was an end to a legacy. But even more than that, it was like the end to a family. Throughout the years I was there (1987-1997) it was truly a family operation--one that I have not experienced anywhere else. Proof of that was the funerals of both Mr. Stoeltzing and Bill, Jr. The former employees were all gathered to mourn in unison. Now they have all come together again to mourn another passing---that of a great company. Not only did I work for the Stoeltzing family for over 10 years, I was also a yearbook editor and remember folks like Rick and Larry who were just earning their wings. They both went on to management and leadership positions within the firm. I saw young men turn into experienced professionals and had the pleasure of being able to work side-by-side with some of them at proms and homecoming dances.

To say that the Stoeltzings will be missed is an understatement. Was the sale handled properly? No one knows for sure, but I'm sure that at some point, Mr. S will have the final word.

It's been a bittersweet experience reading the blog posts---I saw many people that I hadn't thought about in years. But with each post I read, it brought back warm memories of encounters, phone calls, and "Tell-u-Grams." I know that each B/A professional will have success in their future...Bill Stoeltzing imparted a lot more than photography knowledge to many. His life lessons live on in each employee that he touched.

I too was shafted by -Connie after 15 years of fantastic service and loyalty. I was even told that I wasnt eligible for rehire- The fall of the Brynalan empire came when the usless New CEO allowed the HR witch to basically run the company.
Everyone in the company are biter.

Don't forget the leaking roof (s) and along some windows. There is a place in the LAB that part of the window pane was the wrong size but installed anyway and covered up with mini-blinds (that NEVER were cleand). In this same room a door was covered with sheet rock with out insulation. This is where some of the mold grew. Fixed by a spray down with bleach and then a fresh coat of paint.
Some employees suffered from BAD Migraine headaches, re-occurring colds, sinus issues and allergies. When we would come back from Christmas break or a vacation lasting 3-4 days in a row off you could hear people say that felt so much better away from the building and how long would it be before they got sick again, then gradually the sneezing, coughing etc. would gradually creep up. If you were there in the past years you would see on all of the desks the pump type "Hand Sanitizer". One person even gave these out as Christmas gifts one year.
Maybe the best thing for these employees was the selling of the company.

I think we all know who the "young man" was or could guess. There is still freedom of speech. Some may not like what others are saying, but that is the beauty of free speech. We don't always agree or like what is being said. Just don't read it or listen if you don't agree or like it.

Just my take.

Again most of us quote "Old Timers" from BA have gone on to better things and times and resumed our profession in other ways. It is a shame as Mike said that we cannot express our feelings in a passionate way any longer without all the legal ramifications that go along with this.

I really have enjoyed your blog and hope a lot of you give credit to the Newsome's for allowing us to reconnect with our old lives, if just only for a short time.

Many Thanks.....! ! !

I thought for the most part, the old time BA folks were quite cordial. Most spoke of their positive experiences, and some of course were critical of the way they were treated towards the end of their employment, and this of course is understandable. I realize you have to protect yourself in this litigious society and understand your reasoning. It is just a shame that free speech isn't really free these days. The last post I read on this blog was critical of a company other than BA, so I assume this was the straw that broke the camels back.

I enjoyed the reconnect with BA folks and thank you for the opportunity afforded by you.
